Today, 17.05.2022, at the Ministry of Transport were signed: the contract for the construction of the new Departure Terminal for external flights of the Timisoara Traian Vuia International Airport and the order to start the works for the same objective.
The event was attended by. Sorin Mihai Grindeanu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Daniel Pițurlea, President of Concelex Group and Managing Director of Concelex Engineering and Mr. Daniel Oliver Stamatovici, General Manager of Timisoara Traian Vuia International Airport.
The winner of the tender for the project “Services for the elaboration of the technical-economic documentation (phases D.A.C., P.T., D.E.) and the execution on its basis of the execution works for the construction of a building for the purpose of “Departure terminal for external flights”, including the provision of technical assistance from the designer”, was designated on 25 March 2022. Out of the six associations formed for the initial tender – Strabag, Concelex, Bog’Art, Kesz Construcții România, Elidiclau Prest and Construcții Erbașu, respectively three selected for the final stage – Concelex, Construcții Erbașu and Strabag, the winning bid was submitted by SC Concelex SRL (association leader) – SC Concelex Engineering SRL – SC Convcrete&Design Solution SRL – SC Metroul SA.
On 6 April 2022, the National Council for the Settlement of Disputes (C.N.S.C.) registered a complaint against SC Strabag SRL (2nd place) regarding the public procurement procedure.
By decision no. 967/C1/848 of 09.05.2022, C.N.S.C. rejected as unfounded the appeal filed and confirmed the decision of Timisoara Traian Vuia International Airport to appoint Concelex SRL as the winner of the tender.
The tender for the new external departures terminal was launched on 3 September 2021. The estimated value of the construction works is 88.99 million lei and the deadline for completion is 31 December 2023. The terminal will have a built-up area of 12,000 sqm, 6 security filters, 18 check-in counters, 6 automatic document scanning gates.
